What Ava does all day

Ava wakes up between 7 and 8 for her first bottle, but will sometimes fall back asleep until 9 or 9:30. First thing in the morning, we get to see this sweet face. She is always smiling when we walk in there to get her.

When she first gets up, I read her a few pages from her baby version of the bible and then one other book.

Then Ava has breakfast. She can hold her bottle herself, so sometimes we let her feed herself, but most of the time we hold her while she eats. Her current bottle feeding schedule is 7am, 10:30 am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, 10pm.

Ava plays with her toys in the living room floor......mostly with mommy or daddy, but she will play by herself for 20 minutes or so which lets me get things done around the house.

She takes her first nap around 11:30.

She usually has a dirty diaper when we get her out of bed from her first nap, so she gets a bath.

She plays in the living room floor most of the afternoon.

She wants to crawl, but for now she just gets up on all fours and rocks.Sometimes Ava helps mommy with my chores. Here she is helping me fold laundry.

Ava likes to watch me get ready, so she sits on my dresser while I stand right behind her fixing my hair and putting on makeup. It is a little harder to get ready, because I have one hand on her or she is leaning up against me, but she seems to really enjoy it...especially the make up part.

She eats her baby food around this time. She has it again at dinner. Usually she has vegetables mixed with cereal first followed by some fruit, which is her favorite. She is not a fan of the meats.

Some days we go shopping in the afternoon.Ava takes her second nap around 3:30.

Then she plays with her toys some more. I usually try to start dinner at this time.

In the afternoon or evening, we like to go for a walk.

We also like to go hiking around Austin in the evenings and on weekends.

Ava goes to bed around 8pm.......this is me and Clint's time to hang out........then we go in and feed her again right before we go to bed, around 10pm.

What Ava is doing at 6 months

1. She scoots around like a little worm and gets up on all fours and rocks, so I think crawling is coming soon.

2. We read together most mornings, but she mostly likes to turn the pages.

3. She can sit up quite well now.

4. She has TWO teeth on the bottom. Teething was not that bad for her

5. She gives the best hugs.

6. She reaches for us when we clap our hands and reach for her. I love this!

7. She will play with her toys in the floor by herself for 30 minutes. This is my chance to clean the house.

8. She likes to put herself to sleep in bed at night. We just lay her in the bed and she snuggles her blanket and sucks her pacifier until she is out. She actually pushes away when we try to rock her at night.

9. Sometimes she lets me rock her to sleep during the day for naps. I cherish this time now.

10. She pinches our faces pretty hard, so we are teaching her "no!"

11. She makes a lot of noises.....mostly high pitch squeels and "aaahhhhhs" and sweet little nothings.

12. She wants whatever is in our hands......cell phones, paper, clothes. She wants it!

13. This has been the most fun month so far, because her little personality is coming out and she is so active.
