What Ava's been up to

It snowed in Austin this week, so I took Ava outside to snap a few first snow pictures. She was less than thrilled about the snow in her hair.

Ava has become very cuddly in the last month. She lets me hold her with her head on my shoulder and she curls up in a ball. It is so sweet.....in this picture she fell asleep in my arms.
Ava eats in her big girl high chair now and loves her little Gerber graduates. She gets excited when she sees me get the can out.

.

I have given up on Infant Potty Training for now. Ava will go about 1/3 of the times I sit her on the potty.........but she pees so frequently that it is impossible for me to catch it every time. I am going to try again in a few months.

Ava loves her mirror friend. She gives her lots of hugs and kisses.

Ava at Seven Months

Ava's Seven Month Photo Shoot

As soon as I got the camera out, she began to pose.

Get me out of this tutu!
Monthly Bunny Comparison

What Ava is doing at 7 months
1. She talks by saying eeeehhhh and aaahhhh and gaaaahhhh.
2. She laughs out loud. Before she would giggle, but now when something is really funny she lets out a big old laugh. It is so funny!
3. She eats little Gerber graduates with her fingers. She is learning to pick them up with her pincher fingers rather than her whole fist. She gets so excited when I get the can down and she begins to squeal, because she knows that Gerber graduates are on there way!
4. She is still scooting around like a little worm and gets up on all fours and rocks. She can scoot from one side of the room to the other very quickly.
5. One day when we were reading her bible, she opened it up and began reading to me. She opened the first page and said aaaahhhhhh and gggaaaahhh and iiihhhh as if she were reading the words, then stopped and turned the page and on she went through the bible. I couldn't believe it!
6. She has been sick for the last two weeks, so she has been very cuddly.
7. She can pull herself up on our arms or crawl up me when I am sitting on the floor.
8. She loves paper of any kind......clothes tags, magazines, bills.....whatever she can get her little hands on.
9. She really wants anything that is not made for her......remotes, cell phones, laptop, important papers, soap.......if its not a toy, she wants it!
10. She has become very attached to mommy. When someone else takes her she reaches for me and cries. Usually daddy is okay too, but everyone else is off limits until she warms up to them.
11. Clint taught her to stick her tongue way out down her chin in the bath the other day. Now, any time I put her in the bath......out comes that tongue.
12. We have gotten compliments at the church nursery and play group as to what a great baby she is. She is a sweetheart!

Ava's Cold

Ava has had a cold for the last week. This is only her second time to be sick in seven months......we just started her in church nursery on Sundays, so we think that is where she picked it up. It has really made me thankful that we were blessed with a baby with no health problems, as it is such a helpless feeling when they are hurting and you can't make it better

Here she is with her medical supplies.....baby Vick's, baby Tylenol, a thermometer, and nose sucker.
Ava doesn't watch much tv or videos due to all the controversial studies on whether it is good or bad for the baby's brain. However, we broke the rules and let her watch Baby Einstein. Whatever keeps her happy!
She seemed to really enjoy it for about 20 minutes. That is her attention span for anything.

She spent much of the week sleeping and being held.
Showing off her fancy new nightgown.

Ava has always needed to be in her crib, car seat, swing or our arms to fall asleep. However this day, she was fighting taking a nap, so I let her play with some toys in her floor. The next thing I knew, she was sleeping like this.
Showing her little crack....not the most complementary position for a little lady!
