Hotel Icon Revisited

Clint & I go back to Houston about once a month to see friends, attend parties/weddings/events and we usually just stay wherever Clint can find a deal on Priceline, which is often Omni onWoodway. This week for our Houston visit was a special treat, because we got to stay at Hotel Icon. This is an amazing hotel downtown and actually where we spent our wedding night. Of course we weren't in the Executive Suite this visit, so the room was not as fancy, but it was just fun to be back somewhere that holds such special memories to us.

We also spent time looking in northern Houston at apartments, getting familiar with the area, visiting a church and spending time with my Aunt,Uncle, and cousins. We are really excited to get moved back to the Houston area in ONE MONTH!!!

Here are pictures from the New Home Center. We plan on buying a home next Spring, but were just curious to see what is out there.

The green lights are the running trails. How awesome is that going to be?

Third Trimester!!!

I am so excited to be in my final trimester of pregnancy and can't believe in less than 3 months, we will have our sweet baby girl in our arms.  Pregnancy has truly been one of the most exciting, distracting and wonderful experiences of my life.  Every day I wake up with anticipation that we are one day closer to meeting our baby girl.  The only time I can remember feeling this much anticipation was in the months leading up to our wedding and the night before Christmas as a child.  Basically, all I can think about is the baby.  These are the thoughts than run through my head:  how wonderful it will be to hold her, what she is going to look like, that we will finally have a little baby of our very own.....part me and part Clint, if she will be an easy/hard baby, what cute outfits she just needs me to buy her, what a great daddy Clint is going to be, how much I can't wait to cover her with love & kisses, how much our families already love her and mostly how truly blessed we are to have been given this little gift from God.

As far as the pregnancy, it has gone great so far.  I make more frequent trips to the restroom and have learned what Zantac (heartburn medicine) is, but other than that, the only reason I know I am pregnant is the constant moving in my belly and the rather large belly I have grown.  These pictures are comparisons of when I was 8 weeks pregnant to 28 weeks pregnant.  I feel so truly blessed to be pregnant, but must admit that it has not been easy to see my body morph into a large bellied pregnant body.  I have gained 20 lbs and appear to have swallowed a rather large watermelon.

Baby Nursery Update: Bedding is on its way!!!

This will be the final nursery post until I actually get the baby nursery set up in The Woodlands in June. I was so excited to hear that our bedding is finished and was published by Jacquelyn Reese on One Haute Kid blog today. Here it the link and I have also posted pictures and the write up below. I love how it turned out and can't wait to see it all put together with our furniture, chocolate glider, red decorations & of course the chandelier!

As promised here is an update to the red and brown crib bedding. Remember this? It's the original rendering the client sent of how she wanted her bedding to look.
Here’s the finished product and I think it turned out beautiful! The red is a deep crimson accented with a soft ivory and chocolate brown. Please excuse my amateur photography; these pictures do not do these fabrics justice. The client requested red bow ties. Check. Soft cuddly minky for the bumper insides. Check. A tailored center kick pleat crib skirt. Check. Single monogram accent pillow. Check. And a reversible minky blanket. Check. Click on the photos to enlarge.

This bedding set is on its way to its new home and I hope it brings the family great joy as it was a pleasure to make. So tell us...what do you think?
