We did her nine month photo shoot on Easter morning.

What Ava is doing at 9 months:
1. She can crawl well now, but reverts to army crawling when she is really trying to get somewhere.
2. She loves to pull up on anything to stand.........coffee table, couch, chair, toys, our legs. She just wants to stand up and then she laughs and smiles when she gets up, because she is so proud of herself.

3. We got her a new table toy that has a little plastic laptop on it. She will stand at that toy and play with her laptop and phone for 20 minutes at at time.
4. She LOVES her baby doll. Once she finds it in her toys she talks and talks to it then she takes it with her to her next destination. So she crawls holding the baby in one hand and stands up holding the baby in one hand and plays with her toys holding the baby in one hand. It is really sweet. I loved baby dolls when I was a little girl, so I guess she got that from me.
5. She talks. She started with ma ma ma maaa.....she says this when she is sad or wants me to pick her up or wants more food. I think she knows it is me she is wanting ;) Then she moved on to ba ba ba baaaaa........this she says a lot to her toys and baby and in the car. And then about two weeks later, she figured out da da da daaaaa......I always think she is telling her daddy something, but he is not so sure.
6. When strangers stop to talk to her or tell her how cute she is, she will sweetly smile and coooo like she knows what they are saying. I think she really likes the attention. Then if she gets really happy about it she will let out a "heeeee".

7. When we go out to eat, she completely turns around in her high chair to watch the people behind us eat and talk to them. She has made a lot of friends at various Austin restaurants.
8. She will come to us if we call her........she crawls or scoots over to us and then climbs up into our lap.
9. She follows me around the house all day.......if I am doing the dishes, she crawls in there to "help" (now she can stand up and play with the dishes as I load them)....if I am getting ready, she sits on the floor and plays with my comb or deodorant or anything that is safe for her to play with.........if I am on the laptop, she comes over to help me type. So, I am learning that it is easiest to get things done while she naps.
10. We go on a run every weekday. We leave right after she wakes up and eats and run / walk 3.7 miles. She looks around and talks and seems to love being outside.
11. Clint & I take her hiking in the evenings and on the weekends. He carries her in the baby bjorn and she loves it. She laughs when he is going downhill, because he bounces with each step.
12. She laughs and laughs at her daddy. He makes funny noises at her and yells and laughs and then she just cracks up.
13. She eats anything we put in front of her. She still has jars of baby food, but finger bites of anything else we are eating......broccoli, peas, rice, bread, strawberries, appricots, boiled carrots, boiled apples. We are starting to just share our dinner with her. Even when we go out to eat, she will eat small bites of my meal. So far, she has liked everything.

14. She has started to walk with walking toys.........like get behind a toy shopping cart or a little lion she has and slowly creep along behind it. She still falls a lot when she is doing this
15. She is back to falling asleep on her own. We give her blankie and paci and she snuggles up with it and falls asleep or lays in there and talks until she falls asleep or cries for about 5 minutes and falls asleep. It really helps with her schedule. Currently she wakes up around 8.......takes nap around 10 - 11:30/12:30........second nap 3:30 - 5......then sleeps at night from 8 to 8. She does best with a very consistent schedule.
16. She is down to 4 five ounce bottles and then three meals a day. She eats each meal while we are eating.
17. She can grab things faster than the blink of an eye........drinks on the table(we are at around 7 spilled glasses at restaurants....and counting), plates on the table, electronics.....whatever she wants, her little arms can get.
18. Ava has four more teeth coming in on top. Two have broken through the skin.
19. She really likes to play with other babies her age.
