Baby Nursery Planning

I decided about a month ago that I wanted to do our baby's nursery in red & chocolate with more of a modern look than baby look. Little did I know that after hours and hours of research and shopping, the nursery I had envisioned did not exist. I had seen pictures on blogs of custom crib bedding that turned out really cute, so I decided to go that route. I found a lady in Houston that makes beautiful custom bedding. I shared my dream nursery plans with her and Wah-Lah........she sent me fabric that I love and has already begun her creation. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Houston Friends

Clint and I made it back to Houston a few weekends ago for two birthday parties. Over the last two years, while living in Galveston & Victoria, I have tried to make it back to Houston a couple of times per month to spend time with my friends. I knew someday we would get back to the area and I love my friends too much to go without seeing them. I can't wait for our move to The Woodlands in May/June, as it will make it so much easier to get together with them.

We spent the first part of the night at Amy's birthday party. She is a part of our girls brunch group that meets on a monthly basis. We have been doing this for over 4 years and these girls have been such a blessing to me!

Chrissy is my pregnancy friend........she is 5.5 weeks behind me and has made being pregnant even more special for me. It is really nice to have such a dear friend to go through it with!

My & my hubbie. I am so glad that Amy's brother added the flower to my hair for a little flair.

Then we headed over to John & Cassie's beautiful home in Katy for John's birthday party. Cassie has the gift of hostessing, so their parties are always wonderful! We even got to stay the night with them and visit First Baptist Sunday morning, which was such a treat for us.

It's a GIRL!!!!

We had our big ultrasound today and we are having a baby GIRL!!! I would have been happy with either, but I have always dreamed of having a little girl. This was like God putting icing on the cake. The moment they told me it was a girl will forever go in my TOP 10 list of favorite memorable moments of my life. (#1 is our wedding day, #2 is when Clint proposed, #3 is this "It's a Girl" moment, #4 when I read pregnant on the test......somewhere in here are family vacations as a kid). I was so surprised and thrilled that I wanted to jump off that table! Clint is excited too.......he looked a little shocked at first and then said, "You got your girl". He then said, "Two girls in my house, I don't know if I can handle that." We actually prayed before we went to the ultrasound and Clint asked for a baby girl. He said he would be happy with either boy or girl, but wanted me to have the little girl I have been dreaming of.

Now, I can't wait to hold her and rock her and feed her and love her.......oh yes, and dress her up in cute clothes!

The arrow is pointing to the proof that she is a girl. I needed reassurance, but the doctor said they have never been wrong.
This is a really fuzzy 3D shot of her face. She has her hands over her face and it looks like she is praying.....maybe thanking God for answering her Mommy's prayers.

Our BOB Stroller & Seeing Alan Off

My parents and youngest brother came to see me while I was in The Woodlands for work this month. They bought us our first baby gift.........The BOB Stroller. I did a lot of research on strollers before finally deciding on The BOB Revolution. It is a jogging stroller, but you can unlock the front wheel, so that it swivels and can be used in the mall. It came in this week, so Clint and I picked it up at REI. I can't wait to have a baby to push in the stroller....I am going to run myself back into shape with this stroller after the baby arrives. This was also one of the few baby products that Clint is actually really excited about!

Alan headed back to Germany at the end of their visit. He came home for Christmas, but is going back for the second half of his year in Germany for study abroad. When he comes home in August, he will have a new little niece or nephew to meet!
